Nurseries

In both of our settings, we create a strong sense of belonging and foster an ethos of togetherness – a place where each individual child makes a contribution and feels valued. We provide the opportunities for each child to grow into a happy, confident and creative individual. All our nursery environments are rich in possibilities so that children can explore, be curious and creative with others.

” Our task is to help children communicate with the world using all their potential, strengths and languages, and to overcome any obstacle presented by our culture. “

Loris Malaguzzi, Reggio Emilia founder

Suvi – CEO
” Working with children and families has been my passion and inspiration for nearly 20 years. I have a BA in Early Years and I have been working at Carousel Nursery in different roles since the company was founded. My priority is the happiness and well-being of our children, families and educators; I love transforming early childhood education through play, collaboration and reflection. I am proud to part of a team endeavouring to create a sensitive and supportive operational culture where everyone learns together and from each other. In my everyday encounters, I hope to show children that they can have a positive effect on the world. “
Kirsty – Pedagogical Advisor

” I was born and raised in Australia; however, I have made Finland my home. I hold more than 16 years of experience and two qualifications in Community and Children’s Services and in Developing Professional Practice in the Early Years. I had the opportunity to attend an international study group in Reggio Emilia (Italy), where I have learned and developed my practice on how to apply the Reggio Emilia Approach to my practice as well as our staff.

I love being immersed in nursery life, working collaboratively with staff and children, and bridging the gap between theory and practice in early years education. I believe in a culture of learning where play, questioning, open dialogue, imagination and creativity are pivotal to the continued quest for knowledge and development. “

Rob – Chief Operating Officer
” I moved to Finland 15 years ago from the United States and have enjoyed every moment living here. I am currently in my 14th year as an early years educator here in Finland with eight years at Carousel Nursery. I greatly enjoy sharing my passion with the children in the area of technology. It is a wonderful feeling to see the excitement in the children’s faces as they learn what is possible through technology, especially when they realize they can code a robot or simple program to perform things they want it to do. I also enjoy my time with the older children during our Jolly Phonics sessions where I get to help grow their passion for reading and writing.
