Notice the little things
There is time to look, listen and wonder — noticing details that are easy to pass by.
Trips & Discoveries · Carousel Nursery
A library doorway, a woodland path, an island by the sea. Our trips invite children to look closely, ask questions and discover the world together.
A glimpse of the places we have explored this year — and the curiosity we bring back to nursery.

Learning beyond our nursery walls
Our Reggio-inspired approach makes room for questions, shared experiences and discoveries that begin with the children themselves.
There is time to look, listen and wonder — noticing details that are easy to pass by.
Shared journeys offer opportunities to practise cooperation, conversation and growing independence.
A new place can spark stories, drawings, questions and ideas long after the trip has finished.
Moments from Ruoholahti
Real glimpses of children exploring places beyond their everyday surroundings.

11 September 2026 · Owlets
A small detail from a day on the island: hands gathered together to compare bird-foot shapes. Little discoveries give us plenty to notice and talk about.

10 September 2026 · Owls & Owlets
A shared story in a different setting. Our visit brought the children into the world of the library, with pictures and books to capture their attention.

Ruoholahti · Owls & Owlets · 21 August
Our name for a place full of possibilities. On this forest visit, the children explored mossy tree trunks, examined pine cones and pieces of bark, and experimented with small woodland constructions.
With Oiva the owl, our forest guide, alongside them, everyday natural materials became part of an imaginative adventure. A fallen piece of bark could become a roof; a hollow beside a tree, a little home.
These quiet, hands-on moments make space for observation, problem-solving and stories of the children’s own.
Olari · August 2026
A helping hand along the path. Leaves to look at closely. A pine cone to pick up, and a tiny snail to wonder about. Our Olari children’s August forest trip was full of moments worth slowing down for.

Exploring together
Moving along the woodland path together, with an educator nearby and friends to share the journey. The forest offered space to explore, help one another and try the next step.

Time to notice
Leaves, cones and small creatures invited curious questions. These simple encounters bring our Reggio-inspired approach outdoors: observing closely and following what catches the children’s attention.
More moments beyond nursery
On an island trail or in a woodland shelter, children have time to notice, wonder and share what they discover.

Seurasaari · Helsinki
At Seurasaari, a weathered trunk and the small fungi growing from it invited the children to look more closely. One little find made room for shared observations and new questions.

Olari · outdoor learning
Branches leaning together became a shelter to investigate. The children explored its shape and space, turning a simple woodland structure into a shared discovery.
Olari · Espoo
From woodland discoveries to a live performance, our Olari children have been exploring well beyond nursery.
On their August visit, children followed woodland paths and took time to notice leaves, pine cones and the small creatures around them.
At the farm, our pre-schoolers saw a real honeycomb and watched a beekeeper explain how bees make honey.
Pre-school · Villa ElfvikAt Villa Elfvik, the children examined bark and moss, explored woodland shelters and made room for Oiva the owl in their imaginative play.
Music & storytellingWatching a mini opera together offered the children a new way to experience music, characters and storytelling.
